Most of the mastering classes are only offered in French. Some teachers are able to translate, but you have to be comfortable in French. To know which class is open to bilingual students, please contact us.

you can submit your creations from the classes you have taken during the year to the exhibition of students of continuing education gala held each spring, and so compete for the prize “Special Technique”. The prize is a workshop of a day with a value of $ 125. (See our programming of mastering courses.) To find out how to register, sign up for our newsletter and you will be informed in time.

SEPTEMBER

DESIGN OF DIGITAL PRESENTATION: THREE  CLASSIC RINGS

Objectives: Through three projects imposed from classic rings (a solitaire, a Trinity ring and a ring entourage) set with gems, the student must learn to work using complex software Rhino 5 technical drawing of presentation. These will then be carved, cast and finished, in order to understand all the stages of the realisation of a digitally printed jewel.

Objectives: Mr. Tremblay Lampron is a jeweler of 23 years experience in manufacturing and repairing jewelry. He uses  electric welding since eight years. Theoretical explanations and practical exercises will be on the menu of these three intensive hours.

Emploi-Québec subsidized workshop

DEVELOPING YOUR OWN SCRIPT

objectives : 

This practical workshop funded by Emploi-Quebec will be given by the New York gallerist Charon Kransen. Active in the contemporary jewellery field for 45 years, he is present every year at several international art fairs and is regularly invited as a jury member and lecturer. In this workshop, participants will be asked to create their own “script”. That is, to develop a new approach to the design and presentation of their portfolio for international distributors, all the while valorizing their framework and their artistic approach without giving in to mainstream taste and demand. Participants will leave this workshop inspired, motivated and equipped to develop their careers at national and international level.

MICRO-MOSAIQUE

Objectives: This course will allow you to introduce you to the traditional and authentic Roman and Venetian micro-mosaique technique. This technique allows for the jewelry to have soft and silky surfaces to the touch. These are the tiny spaces between each piece of tile that highlight all details of the composition.

JEWELLERY FORMED WITH HYDRAULIC PRESS

Objectives: The hydraulic press is an amazing tool to create jewelry that are both light and volume. Participants will learn to make a matrix in plexiglass. This technique allows to reproduce multiple copies of same jewellery in silver. Participants will be able to create a pair of earrings or a pendant. Several examples and demonstrations will be presented in order to show the vast possibilities of creation from this tool.

THE HIDDEN FACE OF THE PIN *NEW!*

Objectives: This workshop is designed to show us the polishing at several stages of the manufacturing of the jewel until its overall finish. THE METALLURGY AT THE BENCH

Objectives: Learning the different techniques to melt, combine and assemble metals. Students will understand the Crystal structure, grain sizes and properties of bases of the metals used in jewelry. Application of tips and tricks to avoid errors that cause problems to the metal during its melting. Familiarization with the principles physical and chemical alloys during the ingot, annealing, tempering and hardening. Farewell the ingots that crack!
