Our teacher for continuing class Petra Luz exhibits at Dominic Dufour ‘s gallery until November 17, 2017.

Petra Luz began her career in 1988 in his home country, the Switzerland. During her four year apprenticeship, she studied the techniques of jewellery, gemmology, metals and design. She’s a teacher at EJM since 2017.

Through this exhibition, the gallery reveals this experienced jeweler which went through many workshops to hone his technique and knowledge. For Petra, design, know-how and portability are three interdependent pillars at the base of a solid jewel. She finds her inspiration in her surroundings and in everyday life. Thus, common objects suddenly take the form of a jewel. She loves to create from the minimum: the forms of nature are stripped, then transformed into abstract figures.

Petra Luz’s work is presented in many galleries and exhibitions around the world.

Engaged and involved, Dominic Dufour has served, from 2007 to 2010, on the Board of Directors of Signature Laurentides. He was vice-president of the Board of Directors of the School of jewellery in Montreal (EJM) before becoming its president. In 2017, he was awarded the Stellar Gala award, rewarding the excellence of his workshop Gallery in Rosemère.

Since 2011, he is established in the Laurentides, and he realises his dream, which is giving a showcase to other Quebec Jewelers.
