Autour du bijou narratif, œuvres choisies et croquis d’Aurélie Guillaume

5 septembre – 5 octobre 2018, Espace Galerie, ÉJM

For the 2018 edition of the Journées de la Culture, the École de joaillerie de Montréal is proud to be exhibiting works by alumni Aurélie Guillaume, whose work echoes this year’s theme : Les mots à l’honneur (Spotlight on words).Guillaume’s enameled characters always tell a story, recounting moments of everyday life in a humourous and playful way.

” My cartoons use hyperbole to exaggerate the whimsical, the grotesque and even macabre nature of the world around me. I believe in the importance of finding humour in tragedy, just as I feel that we can find beauty in ugliness.  My work exists in these rich contradictions that are so much a part of life.”
